Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that adapts traditional poses to be performed while seated or using a chair for support. This approach makes yoga accessible to individuals with mobility issues, seniors, or those new to yoga, allowing to experience the benefits of yoga without the need to get on the floor. Chair Yoga includes physical postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), and meditation, promoting overall well-being.

1-hour Chair Yoga at Mindful Way studio in Mokena begins with a brief centering exercise, focusing on mindful breathing to calm the mind and prepare the body.
Participants then engage in a series of seated poses, such as gentle neck stretches, shoulder rolls, and seated twists, to enhance flexibility and release tension.
The class may incorporate standing poses supported by the chair, like modified Warrior or Tree poses, to improve balance and build strength. Throughout the session, emphasis is placed on synchronizing movement with breath, fostering mindfulness and relaxation.
The class concludes with a guided relaxation or short meditation to integrate the practice and promote a sense of inner peace.
