CranioSacral Therapy

“Get out of Your Head & into your Body and let’s see what the system knows how to do”
― John Upledger

What is CranioSacral Therapy

Holistic CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch therapy that can create dramatic improvements in your life. It releases tensions deep in the body, relieves pain, dysfunction, improves whole-body health and performance. CST impacts the central nervous system, responsible for quality of our life experience.

Stress that comes in on everyday basis overtime starts building tension in the body, this stress not only affects the body but hormone levels, organs, and most of all the nervous sys-tem. Blockages within this system lead to emotional imbalances, creating anxiety, depression and other emotional states as well as other physical imbalances that lead to physical illnesses. CranioSacral Therapy releases tension and allow the entire body to relax and correct itself. CranioSacral Therapy naturally eliminates pain and stress, strengthens your resistance to disease, and enhances your health and wellbeing.

How does CranioSacral Therapy Work

On a surface level, the practitioner works with the bones of the skull and the pelvis. This affects, in turn, the deeper layers of membranes and cerebrospinal fluids in the spinal canal, the brain, and the spinal cord itself.

This is a very gentle system that is being affected not only by the touch but also by applying clear and strong intention.

Craniosacral therapy helps the body to re-establish an unobstructed wave, which is how symptoms disappear.

There’s also a unique and undeniable spiritual dimension to this practice: “The craniosacral wave isn’t just a physical phenomenon,” says Dr. Milne. “It’s also a field of information and intelligence. In the tiny movements of the system, and in the still points in between, is consciousness.” Dr. Upledger refers to this intelligence as the inner physician, explaining: “The inner wisdom which knows what is wrong, why it’s wrong, and how to correct it. The body tells the therapist what needs to be done.”

Craniosacral work is based on a shamanic approach in extension to physical and medical understanding of the system.

Based on what Robert Subby writes in the article about Codependency, this emotional, behavioral and psychological condition develops as the outcome of specific and prolonged exposure to harsh, or tyrranical rules, which leave no space for clear and true communication and expression. It could be connected to living with someone who was chemically dependent, mentally, or emotionally abusive, and more.

Codependency involves the attachment style patterns developed in early childhood, and it can also overlap with other personality disorders, including dependent personality.Codependents often come from dysfunctional families but they deny the facts about it.

How does CranioSacral Therapy Feel?

Relaxing and Clarifying

As soon as the therapist opens the energetic space, sets the intention and start holding the head, or sacrum, the client feels various degrees of relaxation, warmness, or movement of energy in the body.

Often during and after the session is over, a client enters a state of clarity and focus. It’s much easier to become structured and organized after Craniosacral Therapy session.

Chakras are Balanced and energetic blocks removed

During and after the craniosacral Therapy session, it’s common that client might experience emotional states and emotional releases. Sometimes the body releases emotions as body twitches, or shakes. Sometimes, the emotional body releases tension as sadness, laughter, tears, scream. Sometimes the body feels hot or icy cold after the emotional release. After the session is over, the client might still feel the emotions coming to the surface and wanting to be looked at, or released.
